Rowe began sculpting after a very successful career as a taxidermist. During that time, Ken submerged himself in a business that demanded an intense study of anatomy, composition and wildlife physiology. Rowe believes that this in-depth knowledge is a vital bridge to creating accuracy and vitality in his sculptures. His unique background has enabled Rowe to capture the spirit of his subjects with great technical skill.

Rowe has focused primarily on eagles as the subject of his passion and has created an unrivalled collection on this theme, ranking as one of the most authentic collections of bronze eagle sculptures in America.

When asked what inspired him to begin sculpting eagles, Rowe says, " It was like an epiphany. I found myself intrigued by the flight, power and grace of eagles. Flight in general has always intrigued me. It boggles my mind to see anything fly," says Rowe. " I am inspired by the glory of nature." Rowe strives to retain in his work the feeling and emotion experienced while observing, sketching, and photographing in the field. He draws upon the power and beauty of wildlife and captures the internal spirit of the animal in every breathtaking detail.

At one level his bronze sculptures celebrate the power and movement of birds in flight

At another level he creates sculptures that speak to the landscapes from the American Southwest to the Alaskan Plains, magnificent bears, powerful horses, prowling coyotes, fierce wolves, elk, capturing their rhythm in a timeless form.

Rowe's work radiates his love for nature and considers his fieldwork an invaluable form of reference and inspiration. Besides a passion for sculpting and a fascination with animals from all over the globe, success as a wildlife sculptor requires a passion for adventure. Rowe reveres and connects with the natural world, yet finds the peace and solitude of his studio an essential creative process while exploring the deeper meaning of his subjects.

The scale of Rowe's work ranges from small bronze maquettes to large outdoor sculpture of monumental proportions.

Rowe's work is in fine art galleries and private collections. Rowe lives in Sedona, Arizona with his supportive and charming wife Monica.
